Today was Capt. Joes turn to go. The Catfish Cadillac lived up to it's name and kept it's crew warm and comfortable as well as putting some slime on the boat. They caught some smaller fish as well as a 36 and 41.

pics to come...

10.21.08

Today was another pretty decent day. No monsters but a few good fish. We had some smaller ones as well as a 40 and 42.

10.13.08

Well today I had Mr. Tellez and his son again. and we continued our string of success. First whole of the day we had a 12,13,18,33 and 73. We followed that up with a 41 and 42 and the second hole. Frank decided to cut our day short since we had already done so well so he could go check out the new BPS.

Awesome Day!

Friday Night I had Rod Hemphill and and his crew of 2. First spot of the night started out good with all the rods getting action. We sat for a while waiting for a fish to get serious and it didn't look like it was going to happen. I gave the famous "5 more minute" and then it happened. The pole slammed down and the drag was singing. We fought this fish for a while and just couldn't get him up. We new it was big but were completely shocked when we found out how big.

81 Pounds!!!!

followed by a 38 and another small one.

8.24.08

Here are few of the fish we caught this past weekend.

Fishing should continue to pick up as the water temp keeps dropping and hopefully we get some more rain to push some of the salt out of the river.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

8.13.08

Tonight I went out by myself to figure where the big fish have been hiding. I think I found a few. These to fish went 31 and 47 Pounds. I also had a nice Gar and some other smaller fish.

8.8.08

Sorry for the lack of reports but the fishing has kinda sucked. We have been dealing with a weird spawning season followed by 90+ degree water. However the recent cool weather has dropped the water temp and things are starting to pick back up.

Friday night we had 3 guys who stuck it out to catch a couple decent fish. They got a small taste of what the James has to offer and will be back to try it again next month.

5.30.08

Now is the time to start booking for the summer. We are not going to offer as many weekday trips as last year so the weekends may book up quicker.

Right now we have the following days available in June. (13th,20th,27th and 28th call for weekday availability)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5.25.08

This memorial day weekend we spent down in Hatteras, NC fishing for big red drum and cobia. We didn't do anything on the cobes but caught a bunch of spanish mackeral, bluefish, sharks(up to 7'), rays and drum. Here are a few pics.

4.25.08

Today was a beautiful day on the water. The fishing was decent. We caught about 4-5 fish from 5-8 pounds and caught a 45 pounder at our 2nd spot of the day. We made a move to a different section of river for the last spot of the day and got a 63 pounder.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.24.08

Another day a little too windy and man it was cold! The day started of right though. First 2 spots produced a 22 and 24. Then we hit the monster. Our boat best at 71 Pounds. Now I'll be the first to admit that the picture doesn't look 71 pounds, but...... it was! What a fish!

3.23.08

The shad are here! We have been catching them for the last 2 weeks but today was the first day we really caught a good number of them. We caught about 30 in and hour and a half.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.22.08

Today started off like yesterday really slow. It was also a lot windier than it was supposed to be. We had nothing to speak of the first part of the day but we kept at it and managed some nice ones in the afternoon.

3.21.08

Today was really slow. We tried to make this trip happen the last 2 days and the wind wouldn't let it happen. IT also must have done something to slow down the fish because this trip just didn't live up to how the fishing has been.

3.9.08

Today was a pretty decent day. The morning was nice but really cold and then it got windy in the after noon. We had fish of 10,51,55. That's 2 trips in a row with 2 fish over 50.

Pics to come.

Capt. Travis also had a trip today and they caught the new Team Big Cat record! They had fish of 40,56 and 78

Blown out again today....

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.2.08

Well today was a great day for fishing. After getting blown out yesterday it was perfect today. I wish we had caught a few more fish but the size of the ones we did get more than made up for it. Our total for today was 5,8,10,15,51,53. I also have some video of the 51 I will post later. Oh yeah and we had one of the biggest hits I have ever had today and the bait we had on this rod was huge. Needless to say we didn't get it. He broke my 100# leader line.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.1.08

Today Capt. Travis went out and had a great day. They had fish of 5,5,9,15, 34, 51 and 57.

2.12.08

Here is a video from the trip on the 7th.

2.11.08

Today I had 4 guys from Ohio. I was much colder than it had been over the last week but at least the wind wasn't blowing like yesterday. The day started off really slow. We made a move around lunch time and things picked up a little bit. Most fish came from the main channel today and bait was in the same place as usual. We ended the day with a 5,12,16,18,20,27,30 and the last fish of the day was a 52!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2.3.08

Finally an Update....

Travis and I went fishing for about 4-5 hours today and did pretty good. Bait was very easy to get and the fish were close by. We missed two good bites at the first spot and the caught two and the next and one more later. The fish were 31,41,44.

Here is a video of our day.

1.27.08

This happened a few weeks ago but Team Big Cat won the James River Catfishing Club Angler of the Year Title for the second year in a row. It was a very tight race this year and I expect next year to be even better.

You can check up on the JRCC at. http://www.jamesriveroutdoors.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=JRO&Category_Code=JRCC
