Big Cat Guide Service has been fishing the James and other rivers for a combined 30+ years and have spent almost all of that time chasing giant Blue Catfish and Flathead Catfish. The largest Blue Catfish we have caught is 81 pounds and have many in the 50,60 and 70 pound class. The largest flathead we have caught is 44 pounds, which is one of the top flatheads ever caught on the James River. Twenty, Thirty and forty pound catfish are very common for a Big Cat Guide Service trip. If you come at the right time of year you might even hook into striper that can top 30 pounds.
